The first letter

Hello, and thank you for being one of the eleven people who said yes to this.

I want to try writing a letter every other Sunday. Not a newsletter, exactly; I do not have news. More like what I would write to a friend who asked what I had been noticing. Some weeks it will be about books, some weeks about cities, some weeks about nothing at all.

I am calling it Low Tide because that is when the river here shows you what it has been hiding. I hope these letters do a little of that. See you in two weeks.
